The lecture explores the human canine relationship through the evolution of various hunting sports from the pre-Renaissance to the 20th century. The role of the dog is of paramount importance. Over the centuries various breeds were developed to perform specific jobs. From sighthounds, scenthounds, flusher, to retrievers and pointers. They also adapted as the weaponry and nature of hunting changed and it is documented through the artwork that developed around various breeds.
